The Legendary Ten Companions Promised Paradise
Have you
ever imagined being given a Divine promise of Paradise while still walking on
this earth?
This is the immense honor granted to the Ten Companions Promised
Paradise—Islam’s greatest heroes, whom the Prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him) mentioned together in a single
narration, testifying to their goodness and forgiveness.
`Abdur-Rahman Ibn `Awf reported that the Prophet (peace be
upon him) said: “Abu
Bakr is in Paradise, `Umar is in Paradise, `Uthman is in Paradise, `Ali is in
Paradise, Talhah is in Paradise, Az-Zubair is in Paradise, `Abdur-Rahman Bin
`Awf is in Paradise, Sa`d Bin Abi Waqqas is in Paradise, Sa`eed Bin Zaid is in
Paradise, and Abu `Ubaidah Bin Al-Jarrah is in Paradise.” (Narrated by At-Tirmidhi and Authenticated by Al-Albani)
They are
not merely names on a list. They are men who destroyed the thrones of
oppression, established the greatest state in human history, and presented
unmatched examples of steadfastness, courage, and generosity.

nation has a trustworthy one, and the trustworthy one of this nation is Abu
`Ubaidah Ibn Al-Jarrah.”
The Key to Paradise
What
unites these ten great men, in addition to the Prophet’s (peace be
upon him) promise, is that they did not rely on
the promise, they worked tirelessly, striving with their souls and wealth for
the sake of Allah. The promise was an honor for their sincerity.
Their
lives are a practical lesson that the keys to Paradise lie in: Truthfulness
(Abu Bakr), Justice (`Umar), Generosity (`Uthman), and Sacrifice (`Ali and Talhah).
These are
the leaders whose lives must be mimicked today, for each one of them represents
a complete model of faith and heroism.
